Matthew 24:
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these [are] the beginning of sorrows.
The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake, with an epicentre near the town of Léogâne, approximately 25 km (16 miles) west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. The earthquake occurred at 16:53 local time (21:53 UTC) on Tuesday, 12 January 2010.
Then there was the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile, and don’t forget New Zealand that had a big one too that killed a lot of people. But let’s fast forward to Japan and the 8.9 magnitude quake that caused a tsunami that took so many lives.
“We are standing on the threshold of great and solemn events. Prophecy is fast fulfilling. The Lord is at the door. There is soon to open before us a period of overwhelming interest to all living. The controversies of the past are to be revived; new controversies will arise. The scenes to be enacted in our world are not yet even dreamed of. Satan is at work through human agencies. Those who are making an effort to change the Constitution and secure a law enforcing Sunday observance little realize what will be the result. A crisis is just upon us. {5T 753.2}
But God's servants are not to trust to themselves in this great emergency. In the visions given to Isaiah, to Ezekiel, and to John we see how closely heaven is connected with the events taking place upon the earth and how great is the care of God for those who are loyal to Him. The world is not without a ruler. The program of coming events is in the hands of the Lord. The Majesty of heaven has the destiny of nations, as well as the concerns of His church, in His own charge. {5T 753.3}
We permit ourselves to feel altogether too much care, trouble, and perplexity in the Lord's work. Finite men are not left to carry the burden of responsibility. We need to trust in God, believe in Him, and go forward.”
As mention above in Matthew 24, these things most come to pass, but look at verse eight (8),it says “All these are the beginning of sorrows”. It’s just the beginning and so expect that things will get worse, some are looking for things to get better but God never promised that it will until He (Jesus) comes and put an end to sin and it effects on humanity.
So the question is now, at a time like this, where are your thoughts centered? Where are your eyes fixed? It’s only through Jesus Christ and His power that we will find the strength to endure to the end.
There are so many warnings for the people of and the world by extension and yet man has not notice that the word of God has all the answers to life’s ills. So while the world is surprised at the things that are taking place around the world, we as the people of God should rejoice because it’s also a sign that Jesus is soon to come; so we should “let our lights shine that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven”.
