  1. Christmas

    As professed Christians the question needs to be asked, "do we truly love the Lord?" In today's world most Christians have been convinced that modern times has somehow caused the timeless God of creation to change our duty, or bow to the church's "new and improved" method of worship. Is this true? Or is the Word of God plain when it states "Jesus Christ [is] the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." (Hebrews 13:8) Has our Lord really changed His Word? Or does it stand forever as Hebrews declares? Take His Law for example, did it ever change over all the thousands of years? Or do we still have 10 complete commandments that are summed up by Jesus in Matthew 22:37 where He said, "...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." (Commandments 1 -4) And Matthew 22:39 where He says, "...Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." (Commandments 5-10) Is Jesus really confirming His unchangeable Law when he says that? Or was He kidding when He said in Matthew 22:40, "On these two commandments hang all the law..." So as we can honestly see, He was serious when He said back in Malachi 3:6, "For I am the LORD, I change not..." With that said, what does our Lord in heaven say about the well known Pagan rituals of Christmas?
    For those that are unaware, Pagan are Sun worshippers. The Sun god they worship has many names just as the Christian God has many names. Satan mimics the God of creation this way to effectively draw away His people. But the Pagan god's main title is as we all know, "Baal." Does the Word declare this false god to be worthy of worship? Or is this the very false god that angers the True God?
    • 1 Kings 18:21, "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word."
    Since the Christian is prophesied to stand firm in the same Spirit of Elijah in these last days, it is only fitting for the same question to be asked of the church. "...if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him." So, which is it?
    Below is a condensed version of my "Christmas" page on the site. I pray you are blessed by the facts contained therein.
    • Is it acceptable to mix Pagan rituals with Christian worship? No, according to the Word of God we should "Abstain from all appearance of evil." -1 Thessalonians 5:22 (Click here for validation)
    • Is the term "Merry Christmas" a term that pleases God? No, it is a term that declares joy that Jesus is dead. (Click here for validation)
    • Is December 25 Jesus' birthday? No it is not, it is the birthday of a Pagan god "Mithra." (Click here for validation)
    • Did Christians in the past celebrate Christmas? No they did not. In fact, most Christians in the mid 1800's refused to keep the day because of it's Pagan origin. (Click here for validation)
    • Did early Christians give gifts on Jesus birthday? No they did not. In fact, in doing so allowed for Christ to be eclipsed and mankind to be glorified. Would you be upset if someone gave a gift addressed to you to another person? Imagine how Christ feels as His church ignores Him and gives each other gifts. (Click here for validation)
    • What about birthdays themselves? Are they of Pagan origin? Yes they are. (Click here for validation)
    • Is the date Christmas special to Pagans? yes it is. It is the very day they celebrate the re-birth of the Sun god as the Sun starts to hang longer in the sky this time of year. (Click here for validation)
    • Is the Christmas tree Pagan? Yes it is. In fact, it's origin is quite vulgar and I will not get into that here. (Click here for validation)
    • is the Yule log Pagan? Yes it is, and this too is quite vulgar in origin. (Click here for validation)
    • Who invented Christmas? The Roman Catholic church did , and as was prophesied in Revelation 13:3,4 all the world follows her lead. (Click here for validation)
    • Does Christmas cause Parents to lie to their children? Yes it does when they speak of Santa Clause. Later in life the child discovers the lie and worse yet realizes lying works! He now has a tool he can use that his own parents taught him. (Click here for validation)
    • Was Santa Clause designed as a blasphemous mockery of Jesus Christ? Yes he was. There are dozens of Scriptures to confirm Satan uses Santa to mock Jesus and His Truth. (Click here for validation)
    • Is there anything wrong with the colors, 'red and green?" Yes, in Scripture they are the sign of leprosy. Paganism is in fact leprosy to the soul. (Click here for validation)
    • Has anyone ever come forward to admit they mixed Paganism with Christianity? Yes they have. The Roman Catholic church admitted this numerous times in writing. (Click here for validation)
    • Is there a church on earth right now that performs every one of the Pagan rituals of old? Yes there is, the Roman Catholic church. (Click here for validation)
    • Is it true the title "Santa Clause" is actually the title of a woman thereby making him a cross dresser? Yes it is. (Click here for validation)

    As Christians are we ok with performing such evil acts before the ever watching Christian God? Such "commandments of men" are forewarned by our Lord Jesus Himself in Matthew 15:9, "But in vain ye do worship me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men." The Christmas season with all it's merry making and Pagan rituals can in no way be associated with the Christian God. It's all a mockery of idol worship against the very Lord we as Christians declare to be God. If we continue to follow the lead of the world, will we not be among the number that says "Lord, Lord" on that very day Jesus says, "...I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." -Matthew 7:23
    The Word of God is quite plan. "Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen." - 1 John 5:21
    For the Seventh Day Adventists that believes Sister White approved Christmas, see the following quotes...
    Every tree in Satan's garden hangs laden with the fruits of vanity, pride, self-importance, evil desire, extravagance,--all poisoned fruit, but very gratifying to the carnal heart. Let the several churches present to God Christmas trees in every church; and then let them hang thereon the fruits of beneficence and gratitude,--offerings coming from willing hearts and hands, fruits that God will accept as an expression of our faith and our great love to him for the gift of his Son, Jesus Christ. Let the evergreen be laden with fruit, rich, and pure, and holy, acceptable to God. Shall we not have such a Christmas as Heaven can approve? Thousands of dollars are needlessly spent every year in gifts to each other. That is means lost to God, lost to his cause. It pleases the vanity, encourages pride, creates all kinds of dissatisfaction, murmuring, and complaints, because perhaps the gifts are not just what was desired, not of the high value wanted or expected. Christmas is not observed as its name implies it should be. Man has forsaken God in almost everything, and has turned the attention to self. {RH, December 9, 1884 par. 10}
    She also stated quite plainly,
    Shall we have a Christmas tree? Will it not be like the world? We answer, You can make it like the world if you have a disposition to do so, or you can make it as unlike the world as possible. There is no particular sin in selecting a fragrant evergreen (like a potted plant today) and placing it in our churches, but the sin lies in the motive which prompts to action and the use which is made of the gifts placed upon the tree. {AH 482.1}
    What we see today in Christian homes, both SDA and other denominations is a celebration “like unto the world!” The enemy of all souls has crafted such a day that is so filled with temptation that it does indeed generate quite an effort to avoid. For example, for those of us that understand how evil it is to have a Yule tide log in our home may not see as much danger in a wreath. For those that see sin in the tree itself, Satan has offered the mistletoe instead. And for those that can’t even bear to look at Santa Clause on their front lawn, he gives them plastic snowmen bearing gifts.
    " In his wisdom, the Lord concealed the place where he buried Moses. God buried him, and God resurrected him, and took him to heaven. This secrecy was to prevent idolatry. For the very same purpose he has concealed the precise day of Christ's birth; that the day should not receive the honour that should be given to Christ as the Redeemer of the world, - one to be received, to be trusted, to be relied on as he who could save to the uttermost all who come unto him. The soul's adoration should be given to Jesus as the Son of the infinite God. "There is no divine sanctity resting upon the twenty-fifth of December; and it is not pleasing to God that anything that concerns the salvation of man through the infinite sacrifice made for them, should be so sadly perverted from its professed design. Christ should be the supreme object; but as Christmas has been observed, the glory is turned from him to mortal man, whose sinful, defective character made it necessary for him to come to our world." -R&H 12-9-1884

  2. God With Us"
    His name shall be called Immanuel, . . . God with us." "The light of the knowledge of the glory of God" is seen "in the face of Jesus Christ." From the days of eternity the Lord Jesus Christ was one with the Father; He was "the image of God," the image of His greatness and majesty, "the outshining of His glory." It was to manifest this glory that He came to our world. To this sin-darkened earth He came to reveal the light of God's love,--to be "God with us." Therefore it was prophesied of Him, "His name shall be called Immanuel." {DA 19.1}

    By coming to dwell with us, Jesus was to reveal God both to men and to angels. He was the Word of God,--God's thought made audible. In His prayer for His disciples He says, "I have declared unto them Thy name,"--"merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,"--"that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them." But not alone for His earthborn children was this revelation given. Our little world is the lesson book of the universe. God's wonderful purpose of grace, the mystery of redeeming love, is the theme into which "angels desire to look," and it will be their study throughout endless ages. Both the redeemed
    20
    and the unfallen beings will find in the cross of Christ their science and their song. It will be seen that the glory shining in the face of Jesus is the glory of self-sacrificing love. In the light from Calvary it will be seen that the law of self-renouncing love is the law of life for earth and heaven; that the love which "seeketh not her own" has its source in the heart of God; and that in the meek and lowly One is manifested the character of Him who dwelleth in the light which no man can approach unto. {DA 19.2}

  3. The Meaning of Christmas
    Jerimiah 10:1-5
    1Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
    2Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
    3For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
    4They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
    5They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

    Christmas
    Christmas is another festival in the Christian church that antedates
    Christianity by hundreds of years, and that is of pure pagan origin. Like
    Easter, it brings with it numerous trappings that are a certain guide as to
    its source. Among the ancients, the mistletoe was sacred to the sun because
    of its yellow color, and was believed to possess miraculous healing powers.
    Kissing under the mistletoe likewise is pre-Christian, and was but an early
    step in the night of revelry and drunken debauchery with which the pagans
    celebrated the death of the old sun and the birth of the new at the time of
    the winter solstice.

    Holly berries were also sacred to the sun-god among the demon worshipers of
    the Old World. The yule log is in reality the sun log, for "yule" means sun
    or wheel (an ancient symbol of the sun) in some languages today, and our
    English word "wheel"-comes from this source. Even the lighting of fires and
    candles as a Christmas ceremony is but a continuation of the pagan custom
    of encouraging the waning sun-god as he reached the lowest place in the
    southern skies.

    Christmas, as a celebration of the birth of the sun, not the Son, was
    widespread among the ancients. The Arabians celebrated the birth of the
    moon, considered as an emanation of the sun, on December 4 To this day, the
    most important state observance in China occurs on December 21, the
    sacrifice of the winter solstice. In Rome, the pagan Brumalia occurred on
    December 25, long before the birth of Christ. Christmas was a holyday in
    Mithraism, the Persian form of demon worship. Centuries before the birth of
    Christ, the Egyptians likewise celebrated Christmas much as it is
    celebrated today.

    CHRISTMAS STEMS FROM SUN WORSHIP? The author of "The Two Babylons" identifies also the child, whose birth was so universally celebrated, with The king turn God Nimrod, who built the tower of Babel, and says that he was worshiped by Egyption Gods namely Osiris in Egypt, and Tammuz (the same one as Adonis the famous hunter) in Phoenicia and Assyria. (See page 56.) This Tammuz is also mentioned by the holy prophet, Ezekiel, who in a vision saw the women of Judah weeping for him. He is there spoken of in company with sun-worship. Notice This has nothing to do With CHRIST
    "It was an essential principle of the Babylonian system that the sun, or Baal, was the one only god. (Notice, "BAAL?" As in Daniels in the Book of Daniel in the bible day too?) When, therefore, Tammuz was worshiped as God incarnate, that implied also that he was an incarnation of the sun."--Alexander Hislop, The Two Babylons, Loizeaux Brothers, page 96.THE PAGAN CHRISTMAS TREE...
    "The Christmas tree, now so common among us, was equally common in Pagan Rome and Pagan Egypt. In Egypt it was the palm tree; in Rome it was the fir; the palm-tree denoting the Pagan Messiah, as Baal-Tamar, the fir referring to him as Baal-Berith. The mother of Adonis, the Sun-God and great mediatorial divinity, was mystically said to have been changed into a tree, and when in that state to have brought forth her divine son. If the mother was a tree, the son must have been recognized as ‘Man the Branch.’ And this entirely accounts for putting the Yule Log into the fire on Christmas Eve and the appearance of the Christmas tree the next morning. As Zero-Ashta, ‘The seed of the woman,’ ...he has to enter the fire on ‘Mother night,’ that he may be born the next day out of it, as the ‘Branch of God,’ or the Tree that brings divine gifts to men." -The Two Babylons, p. 97.

All that you want to say is up to you but remember God is in charge,and this is a place to speak for him.
